ABC's Bob Woodruff to Speak to the President in an Exclusive Interview Before FormalWhite House Dinner to Honor Veterans of the Iraq War

ABC News' Bob Woodruff will speak to President Obama in an exclusive interview on February 29.  Their conversation will occur at the White House just hours before a formal dinner, "A Nation's Gratitude," hosted by the President and First Lady to recognize and honor the men and women who served in Iraq and the families who supported them. In addition, Woodruff will interview several of the night's honorees.  According to the White House, 78 service members from across America will be in attendance representing more than a million Americans and their families who made personal sacrifices throughout the war.

The interview and Woodruff's reports on the formal White House dinner will air Wednesday, February 29 on " World News with Diane Sawyer" and " Nightline," with an additional report airing on " Good Morning America" on Thursday, March 1.

Bob Woodruff has covered the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan for ABC News since September 11, 2001.  On his seventh trip to Iraq, while reporting on U.S. and Iraqi security forces on January 29, 2006, Mr. Woodruff was seriously injured by a roadside bomb that struck his vehicle near Taji, Iraq.  Mr. Woodruff returned to ABC News with his first on-air report, "To Iraq and Back: Bob Woodruff Reports," for which he was honored with a Peabody Award in 2008. Mr. Woodruff continues to report for all ABC News broadcasts and platforms, including his ongoing coverage of issues facing our troops and their families upon their return home.
