Rumors Fly Over Trump, Allred October Surprises

ABC News' Jen Wlach and Sarah Parnass report:

While the OctSurprise turned out to be nothing but a gag that has since disappeared from cyberspace, Donald Trump still seems serious about his October surprise.

The business and media mogul is likely to reveal his announcement about the president sometime Wednesday.

(The president's not the only one who may have something revealed about him: Rumors are flying that famed lawyer Gloria Allred plans to unveil a secret about Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney.)

Imaginations ran wild on Tuesday, with all manner of rumors tweeted and posted. We won't bore you with the details.

Trump's office was quick to shoot down rumors Tuesday afternoon. Trump's special counsel and political adviser Michael Cohen said, "In advance of Mr. Trump's announcement tomorrow several rumors are circulating on the Internet. And that is exactly what they are-rumors. These reports do not reflect the sum and substance of Mr. Trump's announcement scheduled for tomorrow."

Cohen added that the rumors would not precipitate Trump's announcement, confirming it will occur as intended. When asked how and when one can expect the announcement to come, Cohen said, "People should be following Mr. Trump's twitter feed @realDonaldTrump tomorrow in the late morning hours."

He took to Facebook to assure readers this is no stunt.

"This is not a media event or about Donald J. Trump- this is about the United States of America. I will be making the announcement on Facebook and Twitter tomorrow."

If his tweets are any indication, the announcement will be about Osama bin Laden, Lance Armstrong or the New York Yankees.

As for the rumor that Allred has a tidbit or two on the Republican candidate, RadarOnline weighed in, saying she'll attempt to obtain Romney's sealed testimony from Boston courts. But of course, that too could just be rumor.
