Obama 'Pleased' That Refs, NFL Have Come Together

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney kicked off his off-camera briefing on Air Force One today with "what might be the most dominant topic of the week for the vast majority of the American people: the replacement referees."

Carney said, "the president is very pleased that the two sides have come together to resolve their differences and ensure that going forward when we watch our favorite teams play in the NFL, we can focus on the players and the game rather than on the officiating. It's a great day for America."

Mitt Romney has been less outspoken on the issue of the NFL refs, focusing instead on his campaign and the economy.
