Dwayne Johnson's CNN music series 'Soundtracks' scores premiere date
Dwayne Johnson’s Hollywood takeover is expanding to CNN, where his original series Soundtracks: Songs That Defined History premieres on April 20.
The eight-part series will explore the music associated with some of history’s most critical moments, including the civil rights movement, September 11th, the moon landing, and Hurricane Katrina.
“We are excited to be partnering with CNN and Show of Force to take our global audience on a unique journey through the songs that define some of our nation’s most pivotal turning-points,” said executive producers and Seven Bucks Productions co-founders Johnson and Dany Garcia. “Music is our soul, and we have a deep appreciation for it here at Seven Bucks and the defining role it plays in helping to tell our stories.”
To go in-depth on the impact of the music, Soundtracks will use rare archival footage and speak to legendary figures such as Billy Joel, Paul Simon, Patti LaBelle, Smokey Robinson, and George Clinton.
