GOP Chairman Reince Priebus Touts Trump's Momentum

— -- Republican Party Chairman Reince Priebus argued Sunday that the Trump campaign is surging in the final days of the presidential race.

"I don't think we're fighting from behind. We've got the momentum," Priebus said on ABC News' "This Week," adding "we feel good."

"Momentum is everything you need, and there's no question that over the last week and a half Donald Trump has had an enormous amount of momentum," he said.

Some recent polls have showed a tightening race in battleground states, but Hillary Clinton maintains a single-digit advantage nationally -- including in ABC News' latest tracking poll. Despite that advantage, Priebus argued there are several electoral college routes for Trump to reach the White House.

"There are lots of pathways to get to 270," he said of the threshold of electoral votes needed to win the presidency -- calling Colorado "is a jump ball," claiming that Republicans are "ahead of our pace in Nevada," and labeling Michigan, a state that hasn't voted Republican since 1988, "an absolute toss-up."

"We win a state like Michigan, and as you know it's all over," Priebus told ABC News' George Stephanopoulos, caliming Trump is "a candidate that can win Florida, Ohio and Michigan."

Democrats are the ones who are down, Priebus said, alleging that early voting does not tell the full story.

Asked about Trump's repeated assertions that the election is "rigged" and his failure to directly affirm that he will automatically accept the results of the election, Priebus said he personally will accept the election's outcome and would publicly affirm the results as RNC Chair.

"I think barring some sort of year 2000 type of an election, sure, if it's clear, then obviously that would be the case," Priebus said.
