Tim Kaine Warns Donald Trump That 'Virginia Is Not for Haters'

— -- Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Kaine stood up to Donald Trump today in behalf of his adopted home state of Virginia, saying the Republican nominee has insulted the commonwealth multiple times, including his attack on the family of fallen soldier Humayun Khan and his removal of a crying baby from a Virginia rally today.

Kaine hurled the attack in a format Trump frequently uses to launch missives of his own, tweeting this: "Virginia is not for haters!"

The Virginia senator was referring to Trump’s complaint last week about the Hotel Roanoke’s air conditioning. The hotel hosted a Trump event.

Kaine’s reference to a “Gold Star VA family” is a reference to the family of the late Capt. Humayun Khan. The U.S. soldier died in Iraq in 2004 and his parents appeared at last week’s Democratic National Convention where Khan’s father, Khizr Khan, questioned whether Trump had ever read the Constitution and what sacrifices Trump has made for the country.

Trump has said the Kahn family is attacking him.

Kaine first mentioned the crying baby incident earlier today at a rally in Daytona Beach, Florida.

When Trump encountered a crying baby during his a speech in Ashburn, Virginia, today, he initially didn’t seem to mind the baby’s disruption.

Then he changed his mind.

“Actually, I was only kidding, you can get the baby out of here,” Trump said.

Kaine fired back at a stop on his jobs tour in Florida.

“I saw that Donald Trump kicked a crying baby out of an event earlier today,” Kaine said. “Sometimes you wonder who the baby is.”
