President Obama today called Tim Howard and Clint Dempsey of the US Soccer Team to congratulate them on their great showing at the FIFA World Cup.

"Man, I just wanted to call and say you guys did us proud!" President Obama said. "You guys did great…you guys captured the hearts and imaginations of the whole country."

He added that team members will have trouble keep back the mob of admirers when they return home.
