— -- The 2014 Emmy Awards nominations today opened with a speech about new platforms like Netflix and rightfully so as “House of Cards” took home multiple nominations, including Robin Wright for Outstanding Lead Actress and Kevin Spacey for Lead Actor.

“Orange Is The New Black” also took 12 nods – the most for a comedy series – including Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy with Taylor Schilling and Outstanding Comedy Series. But the overall leader was HBO’s shocking series “Game of Thrones,” with 19 nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Supporting Actress for Lena Headey.

Not far behind “Thrones” was the new series “Fargo,” which scored 18 nominations, including Billy Bob Thronton for Outstanding Lead Actor In A Miniseries Or A Movie. “Saturday Night Live” also earned 14 nods. Oscar nominee Chiwetel Ejiofor earned a nomination for “Dancing on the Edge” and Matt Bomer earned his first nod for “The Normal Heart.”
