Once upon a time there was a group of Disney animators, actors, directors and composers who dreamed of making a movie based on Hans Christian Andersen’s “The Snow Queen.”

You know the movie Frozen,
but what you may not know are these four secrets.

One of the most beloved songs, “Do you Want to Build a Snowman,” almost didn’t make it into the movie. Watch this video to find out why.

The animators and the actors worked very closely to create the characters. In the case of Anna, you may not realize just how many of the character’s traits and expressions are taken directly from the actress Kristen Bell.

Frozen is the first animated feature set entirely in snow. The animators, based in sunny Southern California, had to be sent to snowy Jackson Hole, Wyoming to see how Anna's clothing would move as she trudged through heavy snow.

The filmmakers were struggling with the character of Els It was only after the song “Let it Go” was written that Elsa’s transformation from evil queen to misunderstood, loving older sister was complete and the movie changed entirely.
