— -- Donald Trump said Sunday morning that we should "start thinking about" profiling in order to prevent events like the mass shooting in Orlando.

In an interview with John Dickerson on CBS's "Face The Nation," the GOP presidential candidate said the profiling of Muslims in American is something that should be considered "seriously."

"Well, I think profiling is something that we're going to have to start thinking about as a country," he said, adding that countries like Israel had used the tactic successfully.

"You know, I hate the concept of profiling," he said. "But we have to start using common sense and we have to use, you know, we have to use our heads."

Trump first suggested profiling and monitoring Muslims back in December around the time he suggested a temporary ban on Muslims entering the country.

The shooting at Pulse, an Orlando nightclub, in which 49 people were killed, was carried out by Omar Mateen, an Afghan-American, who police say purchased the weapons he used legally.
