— -- Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson donated $1,500 to a 4-month-old puppy that bears the former wrestler turned actor's name.

"Meet Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, a 4-month-old puppy, who needs your help. He was dumped at North Central Shelter with a large metal wire wrapped around the bottom portion of his mouth," the organization Saving SPOT wrote on its GoFundMe page. "But he has much bigger challenges ahead. Dwayne has a grade 5 heart murmur."

The organization asked for $5,000 to help this little puppy and after Johnson found out via actress Michelle Trachtenberg,he sprung into action.

"This puppy named after @TheRock was tortured, abandoned! He needs our help for life saving surgery," the actress wrote, to which Johnson replied, "This is rough to read about. Poor lil' pup abandoned w/ a wire wrapped around his mouth. I'll help. Stay strong pup."

On the donation page, Jhonson wrote, "Stay strong lil' Rock! Let's get you taken care of, healed up and feeling better for Christmas. Plus you have a VERY cool name to uphold;). Got your back ~ Dwayne J."

The organization has raised $5,445, surpassing the initial goal.

Yesterday, Johnson followed up his original tweet with "Lots of good people chipped in for the lil' guy. Plus the pup has the Coolest. Name. Ever."
